TIP: Adding new type close to existing type

If you try to add a new type layer too close to an existing type layer, chances are Photoshop will "think" that you're trying to edit the existing text, and the cursor will appear in that text. To work around this, hold down the Shift key when you click with the Type tool and a new text layer will be created, regardless of how close you are to the existing text.
