In my first review I take a look at the Photo Tools plugin from OnOne Software. Please ignore the little audio glitch at the very end of the movie - that's what can happen when you edit entirely in Photoshop CS3 Extended!
Couple of notes:
I was using the Professional Edition (with 250 Actions): $259.95
There's also the Standard Edition with 150 Actions for $159.95
The Pro Edition is also available in the Plug-in Suite 4 (with Genuine Fractals, Mask Pro, PhotoFrame, PhotoTune and Focal Point) for $499.95
And, NAPP members can get a 20% discount - check out the discount pages @ photoshopuser.com
(PS. Not all my reviews will be this positive, nor will they all be featuring products that have a NAPP discount - this just happened to be the first one I decided to do after some questions/requests)

Thanks Dave, I have been wondering about this plugin for quite some time. It's great to see it in action and hear your thoughts.

Good review, Dave.
I use Phototools. I purchased it with the NAPP discount (shameless plug for NAPP). It's best feature, IMO, is the ability to apply the changes to a new layer. Too many add-ons make the changes to the original layer and you have to completely undo.
HI Dave,
Yeah I agree totally. Been using Photo Tools for a while now and it has speeded up my Wedding and Portrait editing massively.
Great piece of kit.
All the best to you,
Glyn
Can you add your own actions to the line up, or are you stuck using the canned actions that onOne sells with this plugin? I understand that one can create presets and save them and call them up, but if I had a bunch of actions that I already use, wouldn't it be cool to be able to access them through this uber cool interface? Could someone from oOne chime in and respond? Thanks!
seshu,
It's Mike Wong from onOne here. You cannot add your own actions to PhotoTools (either standard or professional edition) so you're "stuck" with the 250 actions you get in the Pro edition. No promises, but we're looking into adding this type of functionality to a future version of the plug-in. One of the things we're considering is if a user creates an action that requires user interaction - how do we best address and allow for this. That's just one example, but we agree that it would be cool if you could import your own.
Best,
Mike
