If you want to look at a particular folder in Adobe Bridge - and you can see the folder in your desktop, just drag the folder into the Preview pane in Bridge and Bridge will "reveal" that folder.
On the Mac you can drag and drop a folder onto the Bridge icon (whether Bridge is running or not) and that folder will be viewed.
