TIP: a one-pixel trick
Ever wondered what to do with the one pixel Marquee tools? Here's one idea: pick "any old" colorful photo and make a selection using the Single Row or Single Column Marquee tool. Use Free Transform to stretch out your selection in both directions. In the first example I then applied a slight Gaussian Blur.
Then I duplicated the original photo, made a single row selection, stretched it out and experimented with Blend modes. Lots of pretty cool ideas with a little-used tool.
