Finish the Sentence...with Jasmine Star

[cue the cheesy game show music]
"It's time once again to ask a well-known photographer, instructor or otherwise interesting person the same 10 questions and have them to Finish the Sentence! This week: Jasmine Star

Jasmine, please Finish the Sentence..."

My favorite photography accessory (lights, modifier, bag, tripod) is
Photoflex LiteDome Q39 (which is a really fancy name for a softbox). I set it up on a lightstand during a wedding reception--usually off to the side of the DJ or band--and it really changes the dynamic of how I shoot. It adds depth to a room and provides dynamic, two-source lighting (one from the LightDome, and one from my on-camera flash). For more information, you can read more about it

I’ve learned the most from..
Getting down and dirty. With my camera, of course! :) There's no substitute for actually shooting--feeling the weight of the camera body in your hands, the familiarity of the buttons, knowing your histogram. So often people want to read about photography, study photos, or be taught. And while all that is fine and dandy, the best teacher is Practice.

If I could go anywhere in the world it would be_____ because….
Thailand because life on a beach, getting a massage, and eating pad thai sounds like a sliver of Heaven.

My most-used Photoshop add-on, plugin, action set (etc) is
Kubota Image Tools. Yes, I use a few other action sets, but when I first started my business, I used Kubota and have been loyal ever since. I love them because when the opacity is lowered and the actions layered, I get a clean, crisp look that I simply adore. The "Magic Sharp" action is my favorite and I use it on every image on the web. LOVE IT.

I love the fact that Photoshop
Has enabled me to brand a signature look to my photographs

I hate the fact that Photoshop
Has allowed some photographers to believe that a mediocre picture can be 'fixed' in Photoshop.

If I could turn back the clock 10 years
I'd still be in high school, captain of the cheer squad, and living with my parents. I think I'm totally okay not turning back the clock because life is sweet just the way it is! :)

In 10 years
I pray there is a cure for cancer.

If I could give one piece of advice it would be
to keep an open mind and learn something from everyone and everything every moment.

Are you kidding me?...Jasmine Starr?
I have been following her for over a year and went to her conference with David Jay in Chicago. The funny thing is this. After she spoke I asked her a few questions about photography and then said "have you ever heard of Scott Kelby?" she said, "no", I was like, are you kidding me, you have got to check out the photoshop guys...Anyways now she ends up on your blog a few months later.
This is so strange and yet very cool.

One last thing, I am going to be in orlando area in january and would love to see napp and i can't get a reply from scott, could you possibly help me out here. Love your work and thanks for bringing such an artistic side to photoshop!
